Siniru Iheoma Wins Discus at USATF U20 Outdoor Championships

RESULTS
EUGENE, Ore. – A National Championship. The No. 2 all-time mark in school history. It was an incredible Friday for Siniru Iheoma of the Princeton University women's track & field team at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field, as she won the discus and moved up on the Tigers' all-time list.
She will now compete at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Sanitago de Cali, Colombia, from Monday, August 1, until Saturday, August 6
Iheoma's best mark of 54.47 meters, No. 2 all-time on the Tigers' list, came on her third throw. It beats her previous PR of 50.36 meters from the 2022 Larry Ellis Invite, and the previous No. 2 mark of 50.89 meters set at the 2018 Kennedy O'Dell '18 at the 2018 Texas Invite.
While she started with a foul, she responded with a 50.59-meter throw on her second attempt. Her 54.47-meter mark came on her third attempt, and she followed with a throw of 51.86 meters on her fourth. Iheoma fouled on her fifth attempt, and finished with another mark of over 50 meters, 51.60 meters.
Iheoma will be back in action tomorrow in the shot put at shot put at 7:45 p.m. ET/4:45 p.m. PT.
