PRINCETON, N.J. – A total of four current and former members of the Princeton University men's track & field team will compete at the World Athletics Championships, taking from Friday July 14 until Sunday, July 24, in Eugene, Oregon, at Hayward Field.
Current Tigers Sondre Guttormsen and Simen Guttormsen will represent Norway in the pole vault, while alumni Ed Trippas '22 will represent Australia in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Nathan Crumpton '09 American Samoa in the 100 meters.

After the technical meeting on the eve of the championships, official start lists will become available.
Sondre Guttormsen, a Tokyo 2020 Olympian, was the 2022 indoor and outdoor national champion in the pole vault. A Bowerman semifinalist, he collected First Team All-America honors in both seasons, and won Ivy League titles at both indoor and outdoor Heps, where he was named First Team All-Ivy League. His mark of 5.82 meters stands as the Ivy League indoor record, and his 5.81-meter mark the Ivy League outdoor record.
Simen Guttormsen was a First Team All-America honoree in the pole vault during the indoor and outdoor season, finishing fourth at both championship meets. Also runner-up at both indoor and outdoor Heps, his mark of 5.65 meters is No. 2 on the Tigers' outdoor list and his mark of 5.65 meters is No. 2 on Princeton's indoor list.
A Tokyo 2020 Olympian, Ed Trippas '22 collected First Team All-America honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after finishing fifth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2022. Trippas also won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at outdoor Heps, and his time of 8:20.29 ranks No. 2 all-time at Princeton and is the third-fastest time ever by an Australian.
Nathan Crumpton '08 represented American Samoa at the Tokyo Olympics in the 100 meters, and at the 2022 Winter Olympics in skeleton. His mark of 15.41 meters stands at No. 8 on the Tigers' outdoor triple jump list, and earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors at outdoor Heps in 2008.
