Jackson Fretty Qualifies for U.S. Amateur

Rising junior Jackson Fretty will compete in one of the country's most historic golf tournaments after qualifying for the 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship July 12 at Tamarack CC in Greenwich, Ct.

Fretty was medalist at the event, shooting 70-71-141 to win by two strokes and earn one of two qualifying spots up for grabs. He will now compete at the prestigious event starting August 15 at The Ridgewood Country Club and Arcola Country Club in Paramus, N.J.

Fretty played in eight events this past season for the Tigers, averaging 74.6. He had two low rounds of 69 during the spring season, and was second overall at The Prestige, carding a 70-75-70--215 to finish -1 at Coral Mountain.
