Princeton Has Four More Rowers Qualify For Medal Chances At World Rowing Championships

VARESE, Italy – The third day of the U19/U23 World Rowing Championships featured four more Princeton representatives earning chances to race for medals.
"It's shaping up to be a fantastic World Rowing Championships for Princeton," said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. "With so many opportunities for the Tigers to earn medals, it should be an exciting weekend of action!"
Open Rowing
Annalisa Janss Lanfond '26 and the U19 Great Britain 8+ won its heat by 2.4 seconds (6:21.93) and will race for gold on Sunday.
Katherine George (Great Britain) and her partner Vwaire Obukohwo were second in the U23 2- Semifinal (7:01.54), earning a spot in the A Final on Saturday.
Phaedra van der Molen '26 of the U23 Netherlands LW1X secured third place in her semifinal (7:39.71) and has the opportunity to go for a medal on Saturday.
Ella Barry of the United States (7:58.13) and Greta Jaanson of Estonia (8:02.58) finished 1-2 in the C/D Semifinal to advance to the 1X C Final.
Heavyweights
Floyd Benedikter and Nick Taylor of the U23 United States 2- were fifth in the semifinal (6:34.53), moving to the B Final tomorrow.
Andrew Wilkinson '26 and the U19 U.S. 4+ finished with a 6:31.13 and races in the repechage tomorrow.
Lightweights
David Van Valden and Hidde Lyklama '26 of the U23 Netherlands LM2X (6:22.44) were second in their semifinal and next go off in the A Final on Saturday.
Nicholas Aronow (U23 United States LM1X) crossed the finish line at 7:00.13, advancing to the B Final on Saturday.
Adam Casler '26 and U19 United States 8+ secured third place in its heat (5:43.92) and will race in a repechage tomorrow.
