Princeton Completes Weekend Sweep, Tops Fairfield 2-0

With a first-half goal from Grace Sherman and a second-half goal from Aria Nagai, the Princeton women's soccer team finished an opening-weekend sweep with a 2-0 win over Fairfield Sunday night on Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium.
Sherman's goal came in the 14th minute when Heather MacNab sent a long pass forward for a sprinting Sherman, who drew out the goalkeeper for the finish. Nagai intercepted an attempted clearing pass in the 83rd minute, arcing a shot from about 25 yards out inside the right post for her first career goal.Â
Princeton outshot Fairfield 21-3 overall and 7-1 on goal.Â
The Tigers will head out on the road for a Labor Day Weekend pair, first at Rhode Island on Thursday and then at No. 3-ranked Rutgers next Sunday.Â
