Fantinelli Leads Princeton in Collegiate Debut at Duke's Rod Myers Invite

Princeton freshman Riccardo Fantinelli finished tied for 11th overall and led the Tiger men's golf team in his collegiate debut at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational, which wrapped Saturday at the Duke University Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
Fantinelli was even or better in each of his last two rounds, following a 3-under 69 in Friday's second round with an even-par 72 in Saturday's round.
Princeton finished 12th in the team standings at +35. Alabama won the team title at -13 with an 11-stroke margin over runner-up and host Duke. The Crimson Tide's Canon Claycomb won medalist honors at -11, six strokes in front of teammate Thomas Ponder. Claycomb and Missouri's Charlie Crockett each carded a 65 in Saturday's round for the tournament's low rounds.

Princeton will return to competition at the Loyola (Md.)-hosted Hamptons Intercollegiate at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton, N.Y., Oct. 3-4.
