Princeton Vaults To No. 8 In NFHCA Rankings

The Princeton field hockey team vaulted up nine spots in this week's NFHCA poll, rocketing to No. 8 after being 17^th last week. This is what two wins over nationally ranked teams, including a top 10 team, will do for you.

Princeton is the only Ivy League team in the Top 10, along with five Big Ten teams and four ACC teams. Princeton has played three of the other teams in the Top 10, with one-goal losses to No. 2 North Carolina and No. 4 Louisville and a 5-1 win over No. 10 Syracuse. Princeton's other win is a 4-1 victory over No. 19 Rutgers.

The Tigers are about to start a brutal stretch, with five games in 10 games, two of which are against teams in the Top 3 of this week's rankings. After a home game Friday against a Delaware team that has been ranked this year, Princeton will host No. 1 Northwestern Sunday and then No. 3 Maryland two days later.
