Early Goals Lift No. 9 Rutgers over Princeton

Two goals in the first three minutes gave No. 9 Rutgers an early lead on the way to a 3-0 win over the Princeton women's soccer team Sunday in Piscataway.
Sam Kroeger had both early goals, one scored 1:45 in and the other 71 seconds later. Allison Lowrey had the last goal for Rutgers with 7:17 to play in the game.
Rutgers led the shot stat 16-12 overall and 9-5 on goal, with Tyler McCamey making six saves. Grace Sherman had five shots for Princeton and two on goal, leading the team in both columns.
The loss was Princeton's first on the season as the Tigers fell to 3-1. Rutgers stayed unbeaten at 6-0.
The Tigers will return to play Thursday with a 7 p.m. visit from LSU. The visitors from Baton Rouge entered Sunday's game at Southern Miss with a 3-0-2 record.
