Avery Luoma Named Ivy League Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its first round of weekly awards for the 2022 season Tuesday afternoon, and senior Avery Luoma of the Princeton University women's volleyball team was named Player of the Week.
Luoma helped the Tigers go 2-1 at the Towson Tournament, defeating Morgan State, 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-11) and Radford, 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-19), while dropping a close contest to Towson, 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-22).
Over three matches, Luoma averaged an Ivy-best 4.10 kills per set, and compiled 41 total kills to lead the Tigers. She also had 25 digs, three blocks, and two service aces.
Against Morgan State, Luoma recorded a double-double of a match-high 14 kills on a .458 attacking percentage, along with 10 kills and two blocks. She had 15 kills and nine digs against Towson, and tied the match-high in kills with 12 and had six digs against Radford.
No stranger to Ivy League honors, Luoma was a First Team All-Ivy League honoree in 2021. Luoma and the Tigers are in action next at the Sacred Heart Tournament in Fairfield, Connecticut, against Stony Brook University (3-2) on Saturday, September 10, at 4 p.m.
