Team USA Names Griffin '22 to FISU World University Games Roster

Princeton alumna Shannon Griffin '22 has been named to Team USA's roster for the upcoming FISA World University Games to begin Jan. 12 in upstate New York. Team USA will play each of the other five teams in the tournament - Japan, Czechia, Great Britain, Slovakia and Canada - between Jan. 12 and 18 at SUNY Potsdam before the tournament moves to the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Griffin, one of 23 players on Team USA's roster, played in 131 games with Princeton before graduating with her degree in politics last summer and had a standout series in Princeton's history-making ECAC Hockey quarterfinal win over Harvard last season, scoring three goals and adding three assists for six points over the three games. With the series win, Princeton became the first eighth-seeded team to win a series over the top seed in the 20 years of the current format.
