Late Goal Lifts Bucknell Over Women's Soccer Team, 1-0
October 17, 2023 | Women's Soccer
Despite a huge advantage in shots overall and on goal, the Princeton women's soccer team saw Bucknell leave Roberts Stadium with a 1-0 win on Tuesday night.
The goal came with six-plus minutes left in the game when Bucknell's Laura Schmidt stepped in front of a Tiger pass in the Bison's defensive end and sent the counter ahead to Henna Andican on the right side. Andican found a sprinting Teresa Deda, who split two Tiger defenders and sent what became the game-winning shot inside the right post.
Princeton outshot Bucknell 23-5 overall and 10-4 on goal.
The Tigers will return to Ivy League play Saturday for a 3 p.m. start at Dartmouth.
