No. 6 Men's Water Polo Knocks Off No 10 UC Santa Barbara In OT, 11-10

In what was about an even a contest as one will find, No. 6 Princeton outlasted No. 10 UC Santa Barbara, 11-10, in overtime to improve to 18-2 overall and 2-0 on its Fall Break trip to California.
Vladan Mitrovic netted the game-winner, scoring with 1:53 left in the second three-minute OT period. The Gauchos had a chance to find the equalizer late in the extra session with Princeton down a player following an exclusion with 0:4 left, but West Temkin was up to the task one more time to make his eighth -- and final -- save of the afternoon.
Roko Pozaric had three goals for the Tigers, each coming in the first half. Mitrovic finished with two scores as did Yurian Quinones. Pierce Maloney, JP Ohl, William Swart and Finn LeSleur each had one goal in the game.
Neither team led by more than two goals during the course of the match, Princeton taking a brief 8-6 lead with 2:58 left in the fourth quarter. UCSB would answer with two in the final 1:31 to force overtime and then took a 9-8 lead early in the extra session when Finn Genc scored. Princeton's Finn would answer quickly, though, with a score from Finn LeSleur 0:25 later to tie the game at 9-9.
Mitrovic fired home his first of the game with a power-play goal with under 1:00 to play in the frist OT frame. UCSB would counter with an Adam Gyenis penalty shot with 0:39 left to mke the score 10-10 heading into the next period. In that final frame, Mitrovic scored his second of the game for the game-winner and Princeton's ninth win over a Top-20 opponent this season.
