Heavies 4+ Boat Wins At Head Of The Charles
October 22, 2023 | Heavyweight Rowing
CAMBRIDGE – The Princeton Boat House had all four boats racing at the Head of the Charles this weekend.
Princeton's heavyweight boat of Keelan Good, Nic McAdam, Sam Kleiner, Kian Aminian and Wesley Hirschman won their fours event (16:33.46) by over 14 seconds in front of Penn (16:47.6) and Georgetown (16:47.98). The B fours boat rowed a time of 17:31.43.
"We put this lineup together only about 10 days before racing, but as soon as we got in the boat, we set the goal of winning the gold medal, and trained really hard," said Hirschman. "We came together as a group, backed each other up, and, in some tough conditions, got the victory that we wanted. It's a really good start to the season, now we're going to be taking what we've learned back into the other boats and to the team as a whole."
The Tigers' 8+ A boat had the second-best collegiate time at 14:27.95, just behind Harvard (14:26.41)
Women's Crew
Princeton's 8+ A crew collected a 16:55.23, eighth among collegiate boats. The B+ secured a 17:14.49.
Men's Lightweights
The Tigers' 8+ A boat raced across the line at 15:09.1, sixth best in the event while the B boat earned a 15:21.86.
Women's Lightweight
The A Four Boat was third at 19:09.30 among 11 collegiate entries.
Princeton's 8+ rowed a 17:25.14 in its race.
