Harvard Gets Past Women's Soccer Team in Ivy Semifinals as Tigers Await NCAA Draw

Though the third-seeded Princeton women's soccer team led twice in the first half of Friday's Ivy League Tournament semifinal, second-seeded Harvard answered both times and scored twice after the break to defeat the Tigers 4-2 and advance to Sunday's final.

Princeton took the lead just more than 15 minutes in when Heather MacNab was tripped up in the 18-yard box and was successful on the penalty kick that followed, but Harvard answered less than five minutes later with a Hannah Bebar goal.

Princeton again took the lead just more than five minutes after Harvard tied it, with Pietra Tordin sending a ball forward for Lexi Hiltunen to finish, but Josefine Hasbo pulled Harvard even less than three minutes later, and the teams entered the half even at 2-2.

Olof Kristinsdottir scored less than three minutes into the second half for the Crimson, and Gabby DelPico followed five-plus minutes after that, and eight minutes into the second half, Harvard had the 4-2 lead that became the final.

Hiltunen and Aria Nagai were subsequently named to the all-tournament team.

Princeton, which entered the day with the 11th-highest RPI in the nation, will await the NCAA tournament draw on Monday at 4 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
