Princeton Chase Wraps Up Fall Season For Rowing Teams

PRINCETON – The Shea Rowing Center had a busy Sunday as it hosted the Princeton Chase.
Results
Heavyweights
The Tigers A 8+ boat took the top time at 12:28.42, winning by 20+ seconds. Princeton's B Boat secured a 13:08.56.
Princeton's 4x raced out to a 13:21.49, taking down Colgate (14:14.92). The Tigers' 4- had a time of 13:46.32.
Head coach Greg Hughes' 4+ boat picked up a 13:57.39, top time in its event. The 2x entries had the quickest times at 15:07 and 15:22.41.
The 2- (15:12.14) won its race by over five seconds over Georgetown (15:17.58) and 22 seconds over Columbia (15:34.08).
Princeton's 1x (16:16.04) defeated Penn (16:28.0) and Colgate (16:53.60).
"It was a solid end for our fall season, but we need to keep working," said Marco Misasi. "We want 2024 to leave a mark on Princeton Rowing History."
Men's Lightweight
The Tigers 8+ entry was second at 13:06, trailing only Cornell (13:00.3). The B boat earned a 13:18.88.
Princeton's 4- nabbed a 14:14.95 while the B boat crossed at 14:19.64.
Women's Open Crew
The Tigers' 8+ had an impressive performance, earning a 14:16, over 15 seconds ahead of Penn. The B boat finished at 14:43.13 and the C at 14:59.4.
Princeton's 8+ (14:37.76) defeated Rutgers (15:10.28), Indiana (15:15.58), Penn (15:58.71) and Harvard (17:14.42) in the second run in the afternoon.
The 4+ (15:19.96) crossed the line ahead of Rutgers (15:48.75), Iowa (16:19) and Indiana (16:27).
Women's Lightweight Rowing
The Tigers had the best lightweight time at 14:58.03, besting Harvard's open crew (15:02.4) and lightweight crew (15:02.93).
"This was a 14-second swing from the Head of the Charles to today to beat Radcliffe and Georgetown," said Princeton head coach Paul Rassam. "We had four of our five seniors in this 8+ and they went out there and showed their character. They are resilient, feisty group. I know that their hearts were with our senior captain Lily Feinerman who is sick. We love you, Lily. This is a nice way to end the fall racing season."
Princeton's 4+ (16:34.4) defeated Radcliffe (16:45.26). The 2x (16:26.46) easily took care of Georgetown (17:04.83).
