November 05, 2023 | Women's Ice Hockey
Olympic gold medalist and three-time IIHF World Championship medalist Sarah Fillier will continue her international play with Team Canada this week as the latest installment of the Rivalry Series with Team USA hits the American Southwest.
The neighboring nations' teams will meet first at Mullett Arena, in Tempe, Ariz., home of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. ET before heading west to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, home of the NHL's Kings, on Saturday for a 4 p.m. ET start.
A senior at Princeton, Fillier picked up her 91st career assist on Friday night in the Tigers' tie with Harvard before heading west to join Team Canada. The assist moved her closer to third place on Princeton's career assist list, now just three points back, and moved her into a tie with former teammate Carly Bullock '20 for sixth on Princeton's career points list with 159.
The Tigers will host a pair of non-league games at Baker Rink this weekend with Mercyhurst coming in for a 3 p.m. start on Friday and 1 p.m. start on Saturday. Princeton will return to ECAC Hockey play the following weekend, Nov. 17-18, making the Central New York trip to Colgate and Cornell.
