Men’s Tennis Ends ECAC Championships With 6-1 Win Over Yale
February 19, 2023 | Men's Tennis
HANOVER, N.H. – The Princeton University men's tennis team ended the Eastern Collegiate Athletic (ECAC) Championships with a 6-1 win over Yale, Saturday morning at the River Valley Club.
"I'm extremely pleased with the way we finished off the weekend with a very good win against Yale," said Head Coach Billy Pate. They are always well coached and compete hard. We managed to put together a much more collective performance today starting with doubles. Our guys handled the early start and change of venue to four courts well. There were a lot of close first sets in singles we were able to capture which helped us control the momentum. We'll look forward to getting back home now for six home matches the next two weekends."
The Tigers won the doubles point with, Thomas Bosancic and Matthew Bosancic upending Theo Dean and Aidan Reilly, 6-4, at No. 2 and the duo of Ellis Short and Sebastian Sec overcoming Shervin Dehmoubed and Michael Sun, 6-1, at No. 3.
In singles, Princeton five out of its six matches. At No. 1, Fnu Nidunjianzan earned a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Dean, and Thomas Bosancic took down Luke Neal at No. 3, 7-6, 6-3.
