Annapolis, MD - The Princeton baseball team fell short to the Navy Midshipmen 7- 4 in Annapolis on Sunday afternoon.

Navy added a run in the third inning and two more in the fourth frame to open the scoring.

It wasn't until a Jake Koonin triple brought Caden Shapiro home to score that Princeton took their first run in the top of the sixth.

Following a Matt Scannell RBI single in the same inning that allowed Jake Koonin to score, the Tigers found themselves only trailing by one to the Midshipmen.

The Midshipmen answered back with a four-run fame throughout the bottom of the sixth, taking a 7-2 lead.

The Tigers would not be counted out yet, with Jake Bold coming in with a two-run double at the top of the ninth, but could not get closer.

Princeton's Spring Break trip continues at Richmond on Monday (2 p.m.) and at Old Dominion on Tuesday (3 p.m.) and Wednesday (3 p.m.).

Richmond is 7-8 on the season with wins over Yale, Canisius, West Virginia, Merrimack and Rider. Johnny Hipsman paces the Spiders in hitting (.389) along with 11 RBI.

Old Dominion is 13-2 this season, collecting victories over St. John's, VMI, William and Mary, Fordham, St. Joe's, Norfolk State and Charlotte. Hunter Fitz-Gerald leads the way with a .432 average and 1.375 OPS for the Monarchs.
