Baseball Earns 8-3 Win Over Richmond

RICHMOND- Brendan Cumming paced the Tigers with three hits, two RBI and two runs as the Baseball Team dropped the Richmond Spiders, 8-3, on Monday afternoon.
Caden Shapiro opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the second inning. In the next frame, Cumming doubled to left center adding two for Princeton. Three batters later, an error put the Tigers in front, 4-0. Another error by Richmond made it 5-0 a few hitters after.
The home team got on the board with a two-run double by Jared Sprague-Lott in the bottom of the stanza. Sprague-Lott tacked on another run for the Spiders with an RBI single in the fifth.
Kyle Vinci expanded the Tigers' advantage as he tripled down the right field line, scoring Jake Bold and Cumming in the eighth inning. Shapiro knocked in Vinci to finish the scoring for the Tigers.
Matt Scannell earned the win for Princeton, striking out three over three innings. Jacob Faulkner collected his second save with three scoreless frames to close out the contest.
Princeton battles Old Dominion in a two-game set beginning tomorrow. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
