Baseball Heads To Duke For The Second Road Trip Of The Season

PRINCETON – The Princeton Baseball Team makes a trip to take on the Duke Blue Devils this weekend at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Princeton is 1-3 this season, securing a victory at Georgia last Sunday. In the win, the Tigers were down, 5-0, 7-6 and 9-7 before rallying for a 12-11 win.
Scott Bandura paced the offense posting a .375/.375/1.063 slash line in 16 at-bats. Five of his six hits went for extra bases, producing three home runs and two doubles. He also scored six times and knocked in eight, earning Ivy League Player of the Week.
The Tigers hit 10 home runs at Georgia with Bandura and Kyle Vinci leading the way with three each. Vinci secured a .313/.353/.938 line, scoring four runs as well. Nick DiPietrantonio has a team-best .365 average in 13 at-bats.
Jacob Faulkner struck out five hitters in 5 2/3 relief innings, picking up his first collegiate win. Justin Kim had a 2.70 ERA in 3 1/3 frames with three punch outs.
Duke is 6-2 this season and on a four-game winning streak, having scored 61 runs during that stretch. The Blue Devils are hitting .317 as a team and has a .975 OPS. Jonathan Santucci has 18 strikeouts in nine innings, corralling a 1.00 ERA.
