No-Hitter, Again! Laudenslager Blanks Brown to Open Ivy Road Weekend
March 24, 2023 | Softball
For the second time in six days, Princeton senior Alexis Laudenslager has thrown a no-hitter, this time at Brown as the Tiger softball team won their fourth straight to start the Ivy League season Friday at Brown.
The lone run of Princeton's 1-0 win came over two batters to start the fourth inning. Serena Starks led off with a base hit and Julia Dumais picked her up with a triple, and behind Laudenslager and the Tiger defense, that was enough to take the series opener.
Â
Four walks and a hit batter were Brown's only runners as Laudenslager struck out 10 batters for her ninth career double-digit strikeout game, all over the last two seasons and for the fifth time this season.Â
Laudenslager's no-hitter was the fourth of her career, all solo, and it came after Laudenslager threw a five-inning no-hitter in the Ivy opener at home against Yale. Laudenslager did the same last season, no-hitting Yale in a five-inning game and no-hitting Brown in a seven-inning game, and the four no-nos put her alongside Erin Snyder '06 as co-holders of the program record for career solo no-hitters.
After an off day Saturday due to expected rain, Princeton and Brown will play an 11:30 a.m. doubleheader Sunday. The games will be streamed on ESPN+ (Game 1 | Game 2) with live scoring available here.
