Baseball Continues Ivy Action At Harvard Saturday

PRINCETON – The Princeton Baseball Team makes the trip to Cambridge, Mass., to take on the Harvard Crimson this weekend.
Princeton and Harvard will play single games on Friday (1 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m.). If Saturday is a washout, the two Ivy foes will play a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m.
The Tigers were the only undefeated team in Ivy play last weekend, sweeping the Dartmouth Big Green. In game one last Friday, the Tigers won 10-6 behind four home runs. In the doubleheader on Sunday, head coach Scott Bradley's squad won 6-1 behind fantastic pitching from Tom Chmielewski and Jacob Faulkner and 12-4 in the final game of the series highlighted by 12 hits.
Following the team's performance vs. Dartmouth, Kyle Vinci (Player) and Justin Kim (Pitcher) collected Ivy League weekly honors.
Vinci blasted three titanic home runs in the series vs. the Big Green, adding a team-best seven RBI and 14 bases. He slugged 1.077 while also scoring four times, earning his first Ivy accolade.
Kim was outstanding earning the win on Friday with five innings of relief and six strikeouts. The freshman also threw the final frame in the Tigers' third victory, lowering his season ERA to 2.91.
Scott Bandura leads Princeton in hitting at .359 in 78 at-bats, adding 12 extra base hits and 13 RBI. He also paces the Tigers with five stolen bases and has not been thrown out. Vinci has an Ivy-best eight home runs which places him 65th in the country while his .44 home runs per contest is 20th in the nation. Eric Marasheski is second on the Tigers with a .343 average while Caden Shapiro is also hitting over .300 (.308).
Kim has a team-best three wins in his eight relief appearances, striking out 19 in 21 2/3 innings. Chmielewski has posted a 3.95 ERA, punching out 27 hitters in 27 1/3 innings. Jacob Faulkner has four saves in 11 relief outings for Princeton.
