PRINCETON – The No. 7 Princeton Women's Water Polo squad dropped the No. 17 Wagner Seahawks, 15-12, at DeNunzio Pool on Thursday evening.
The Tigers' offense started fast with five of the first six goals. Wagner closed within two in the second frame but trailed 8-3 after 16 minutes. Princeton extended its advantage to six three times in the fourth quarter before three inconsequential tallies from Wagner closed the scoring.
Princeton avenged one of its two losses from earlier this season with the win over the Seahawks. The Tigers get back into CWPA action this weekend, taking on Bucknell (12 p.m.) and Saint Francis (6 p.m.) on Saturday and Michigan on Sunday (10:30 a.m.).
Head coach Derek Ellingson's group has won 20 games in each of the last five full playing seasons. Prior to the game, the team honored the Class of 2023 in Mindy Pang, Laura Larkin, Alexa Kourepenos, Genevieve Fraipont and Annie Robinson. That class has won 70 contests during their time at Princeton.
