No. 49 Men's Tennis Falls to No. 60 Penn in Ivy Opener
April 01, 2023 | Men's Tennis
PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 49 Princeton University men's tennis team opened Ivy play Saturday afternoon, hosting the No. 60 University of Pennsylvania and falling, 6-1.
"It wasn't our best performance today but credit to Penn they played extremely well and executed better than us," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "We had some early momentum in doubles along with break opportunities but simply didn't convert. Unfortunately, that carried over to singles where just we dug ourselves too big of a hole. It's a disappointing result, but we've rebounded well this year when we've faced adversity. We'll get back to work and be ready for two tough matches next weekend."
In singles, Fnu Nidunjianzan earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 over Edoardo Graziani.
