Rao Finishes Runner-Up as Tigers Take Third at Harvard Invite

Catherine Rao turned in a 5-under front nine Sunday as the Princeton women's golf team finished the rain-shortened Harvard Invitational third as a team in the 45-hole event held at The Oaks Club in Osprey, Fla.
Rao had three birdies and an eagle over the final five holes of the nine-hole third round, surging to a second-place overall finish at -4 for the weekend. Lynn's Maria Hoyos won the event at -8.
Lynn also won the team title at +5, five strokes in front of runner-up Harvard (+10) with Princeton third at +13. Princeton put three in the top 10 of the 47-player field with Victoria Liu tied for sixth at even par and Yu Kyung Kim tied for ninth at +3.
Princeton will host Fairleigh Dickinson in a match-play event Saturday at Springdale Golf Club, Princeton's home course, with play beginning at 10:50 a.m. It will be Princeton's final event before the Ivy League Championships held April 21-23 at Century Country Club in Purchase, N.Y.
