Princeton Heavyweight Rowing Class of 2023
No. 4 Heavies Get Content Cup Back Over No. 10 Brown
April 29, 2023 | Heavyweight Rowing
PRINCETON – The No. 4 Princeton Men's Heavyweight Team secured the Content Cup with a 3.2-second victory over the No. 10 Brown Bears on Lake Carnegie.
The 1V (5:42.8) rebounded after a close loss to No.2 Yale to pick up its ninth victory of the season. The Bears' 2V crossed the line at 5:56.5 just in front of the Tigers (5:58.7) as did the road unit's 3V (6:04.6).
Princeton's 4V (6:09.3) and 5V (6:14.5) nabbed wins, giving the home team three decisions over Brown to finish the day.
"I was pleased with the performance of our entire team today with some fierce racing on all levels," said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. "It was a good test for us and big step forward as we finish up the regular season and head towards the Eastern Sprints. The day was also a testament to the leadership of our senior class who has led us so impressively well this year. It was a great last race for them on Carnegie and we are grateful for everything they've done to help us get to where we are this season."
