No. 1 Men's Lightweight Rowing Preps For Eastern Sprints

PRINCETON – The No. 1 Princeton Men's Lightweight Rowing Squad begins the postseason with the 2023 Eastern Sprints at Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday (May 14).

All the races will take place on Sunday with heats going off from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Finals will take place between 1:10 p.m. to 6:10 p.m.

The Tigers' varsity eight has lost just once this season to No. 12 Cornell on the road. Princeton has dropped No. 4 Yale, No. 5 Harvard, No. 5 Penn (twice), No. 5 Navy, No. 6 Georgetown (twice), No. 9 Dartmouth, Delaware, Mercyhurst and MIT. Head coach Marty Crotty's second varsity is undefeated in 2023.

Princeton's victories over Yale, Georgetown, Penn come after losing to those teams in 2022.

Crotty's varsity eight was eighth at last year's Sprints while the 2V was fourth and 3V was seventh. The Tigers last earned medals in 2018 with the 1V, 2V earning silver while the 3V picked up a gold. Princeton swept the races in 2010, collecting the Jope Cup.
