Fillier Nominated for IIHF's Female Athlete of the Year Honor

The reigning MVP of the IIHF Women's World Championship, Sarah Fillier has been selected as one of seven nominees for the International Ice Hockey Federation's inaugural Female Athlete of the Year award.

Fillier joins fellow Canadian Marie-Philip Poulin, Americans Caroline Harvey and Hilary Knight, Swede Emma Soderberg, Finn Jenni Hiirikoski, and Slovak Nela Lopusanova as nominees.

Fillier, who helped Canada to a silver medal, was named IIHF Women's World Championship tournament MVP after scoring a team-best seven goals and adding four assists for a team-best 11 points, also being named Best Forward and as one of three forwards on the tournament all-star team.

Fillier led Princeton in the 2022-23 season with 19 goals, 18 assists and 37 points, lifting her to fourth with 88 career assists, a tie for ninth in program history with 151 career points, and 15th with 63 career goals.
