14 from Women's Track and Field Qualify for 2023 NCAA East Preliminary Rounds

Jacksonville, FL – The NCAA announced its qualifiers for the Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Rounds, and fourteen members of the Princeton University women's track & field earned another chance to compete for the 2023 season.
The squad of Tiger women will head to Jacksonville, Florida from Wednesday, May 24th to Saturday, May 27th, for the East Preliminary Rounds.
The Tigers, who qualified seven women last season in 2022, double the number of Tigers who will be competing at this years' regional meet in 2023.
After being ranked at No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the USTFCCCA in the latest edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index, the Tigers will have athletes from each class representing Princeton.
From the senior class, Maggie Hock, Abby Loveys, India Weir, Arianna Smith, and Tia Rozario all qualify to compete in Jacksonville.
Juniors Annika Kelly and Kate Joyce along with sophomores Maggie Liebich, Lexi Allen, Madeleine Wood, and Siniru Iheoma also qualified to compete.
Three Tigers from the freshman class, Tessa Mudd, Alexandra Kelly, Shea Greene, will all be making their NCAA Regional debuts.
Hock, competing in the 800m, will be making her second appearance at an NCAA Regional as she also qualified in 2022. Her time of 2:06.31 from this years' Outdoor Ivy Heps stands as the No. 41 mark in the East Region.
Loveys qualified in the 5000 meters, an event where she ranks No. 28 in the region, with a time of 16:05.11 from the Penn Relays.
Weir will also represent Princeton competing in the 5000m. Her time of 16:13.82 from this years' Penn Relays stands as the No. 44 mark in the East Region.
Competing in the 400m Hurdles, Arianna Smith's time of 57.84 ranks No. 26 in the region and stands as a new program record for Princeton.
Rozario, who was an NCAA Regional qualifier in in the triple jump in 2022 and 2021, ranks No. 38 in the region after a leap of 12.92 meters at Outdoor Heps.
Joyce, a two-time NCAA Regional qualifier and 2022 First Team All-American in the javelin throw, ranks No. 8 in the region with a mark of 52.14 meters from her mark in Miami.
Competing in the hammer throw, Kelly's mark of 61.04 meters from this years' Outdoor Heps ranks No. 24 in the region.
Liebich will compete in the 1500m in Jacksonville, making her NCAA regional debut. Her time of 4:15.66 ranks No. 16 in the region.
Allen qualified in the 3000-meter steeplechase, an event where she ranks No. 43 in the region, with a time of 10:28.62 from Outdoor Heps.
Wood's 1.77m mark in the High Jump from the Larry Ellis Invitational ranks her performance at No. 25 in the region.
After a heave of 54.15 meters at Outdoor Ivy Heps, Iheoma, ranks No. 22 in the region in the discus throw.
Mudd, the 2023 Outdoor Ivy Leauge Pole Vault Champion, qualifies for this years' regionals with her mark of 4.08m from the Big Five Meet.
First year Alexandra Kelly will participate in both the Long and Triple jump in Jacksonville. Kelly's triple jump mark of 13.23 ranks 14th in the region, and her long jump mark of 6.24m ranks 30th.
The 2023 Ivy Champion in the javelin throw, Shea Greene, qualifies for this years' regionals with her mark of 50.55m from the Virginia Challenge.
The fourteen Tigers will compete in Jacksonville, Florida at the University of North Florida from Wednesday, May 24th to Saturday, May 27th, for the East Preliminary Rounds.
