Kate Joyce of Women’s Track and Field Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Championships

Jacksonville, FL. – The Tiger women impressed on day one of competition at the NCAA East Regionals, with javelin thrower Kate Joyce qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas. Six more Tigers competed admirably in Jacksonville during the NCAA East First Round.
Joyce qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the javelin throw following her 47.98m throw to finish in 12th place overall.
Ivy champion Shea Greene also impressed for her NCAA debut, placing 17th with her throw of 46.75m.
 
Arianna Smith competed in the first round of Thursday's 400m hurdles, and will advance to Saturday's quarterfinals. Smith finished 23rd overall with a time of 58.58 on Thursday.
 
In the 800m, Maggie Hock finished in 2:08.17 to finish 35th overall and Maggie Liebich competed in the 1500m, finishing in 4:22.91 to take a 22nd place finish.
 
For Alexandra Kelly's NCAA Regional debut, she leaped for 5.42m in the long jump to take a 47th place finish overall and in the hammer throw Annika Kelly finished with a mark of 57.86m to finish 28th in Jacksonville.
