Women's Lightweight Rowing Races At Henley
June 16, 2023 | Women's Rowing - Lightweight
HENLEY – The Princeton Women's Lightweight Rowing Team raced at the Henley Women's Regatta this morning on the Thames River.
The single scull of Artemis Veizi secured ninth place in her time trial. The Tigers' varsity eight boat collected seventh in its time trial. The Tigers had two boats in the 2- time trial, earning fourth and seventh places.
Veizi raced out to a 6:43.9 in her heat, finishing second to Grosvenor RC.
The varsity eight fell by six seconds (4:53.1) to Leander A Club (4:47.6), widely considered one of the strongest open crew teams in Great Britain.
"It was a very gutsy piece," said Princeton head coach Paul Rassam. "The eight had a brutal draw after the time trial this morning and dueled the Leander openweight boat, a boat full of U-23 open weight British national team rowers and pushed them all the way down the racecourse."
