Nine Home Matches Highlight Strong 2023 Women's Soccer Schedule

2023 Schedule
Nine home matches and seven games against teams that played in the 2022 NCAA tournament highlight the 2023 Princeton women's soccer schedule, set to begin Aug. 25 with the first of a two-match home weekend.
"Our team eagerly awaits our first full season on the breathtaking Myslik Field housed in magnificent Roberts Stadium," Princeton coach Sean Driscoll said. "Entering my eighth fall season of competition at Princeton, I would say this is our most challenging schedule yet. We face seven teams who participated in the NCAA tournament last year and another two that were regular-season conference champions, but did not qualify due to conference tournament losses. Our hope, as always, is that a strong out of conference schedule will prepare us for an incredibly demanding Ivy League slate. A special thanks to Mike Poller, Associate Head Coach, for his efforts to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to compete against some truly outstanding programs."
A new addition to the season, the inaugural Ivy League Tournament will be held on the first weekend of November, with the top four regular-season teams qualifying and playing at the site of the team that finishes atop the standings, with that team winning not only hosting duties but the Ivy League title by finishing first after the seven-match Ivy round-robin. The Ivy's automatic NCAA tournament bid will go to the Ivy tournament winner.
The nine home matches include: Monmouth (Aug. 25), La Salle (Aug. 27), Rutgers (Aug. 31), Army West Point (Sept. 2), Georgetown (Sept. 14), Cornell (Sept. 23), Yale (Oct. 7), Bucknell (Oct. 17) and Columbia (Oct. 28).
The seven matches against 2022 NCAA tournament teams include: Rutgers, Georgetown and Bucknell at home and Penn State (Sept. 7), Quinnipiac (Sept. 17), Brown (Sept. 30) and Harvard (Oct. 14) on the road.
Admission is free to all regular-season Princeton soccer home matches.Â
The team will return the scorers of 22 of its 25 goals from last season, led by 2022 Ivy Rookie of the Year Pietra Tordin's eight.
