Men's Golf Finishes 5th At USF/Howard Intercollegiate

Princeton opened its 2023-24 men's golf season with a fifth-place finish at the USF/Howard Intercollegiate contested at historic TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
The Tigers posted an overall team score of 851, shooting team rounds of 286-280-285 over the three rounds of competition. Loyola Marymount was the top team finisher at 826, while co-host San Francisco was second at 840.
Charlie Palmer was Princeton top overall finisher in his first collegiate tournament, tying for 10th place at -6 for the tournament. He posted rounds of 74-66-70 for his overall score of 210. Palmer's second round score of 66 (-6) was tied for the third-lowest round of the tournament by any player.
William Huang was tied for 13th alongside teammate Riccardo Fantinelli, both players posting three-day scores of 212 to finish at -4.
"It is always great to be out competing on a classic and historic golf course like TPC Harding Park," said head coach Will Green. "Thank you to USF and Howard for being great hosts and putting on a first-class event. Being out for the first time as a team is always exciting, and I think we did some good things and set the tone for the season. There's always something to work on, and I know we're all focused on improving each round both individually and as a team."
Princeton competes next at the Rod Myers Invitational at Duke University Golf Club September 24-25.
