Sydney Draper Earns Second Ivy Rookie of The Week Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Sydney Draper of the Princeton University women's volleyball team earned her second Ivy League Rookie of the Week award Monday.
Draper helped lead the Tigers to a weekend sweep of the University of Pennsylvania to open Ivy League play, first defeating the Quakers 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-18) inside the Palestra on Sept. 22 before returning to Dillon Gymnasium on Sept. 23 and outlasting the Quakers, 3-2 (25-9, 25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 15-11).
Along with recording two double-doubles, Draper tallied 103 assists with an average of 11.44 per set along with 23 digs, 10 kills, three service aces and three blocks.
In the Tigers' victory over Penn on Sept. 22, Draper had a match-high 42 assists, 13 digs, seven kills and two blocks. She followed that with another strong performance on Sept. 23, finishing with a match-high 61 assists 10 digs, three service aces, three kills and one block.
On the season, Draper is averaging 10.51 assists per set which leads the Ivy League and ranks 30th in the nation.
Draper's first Ivy Rookie of the Week honor came on Sept. 2.
