No. 6 Penn State Gets Past Princeton, 3-0

A goal early in each half helped lift No. 6-ranked Penn State to a 3-0 win over the Princeton women's soccer team Thursday night in State College, Pa.
Mieke Schiemann had the first two goals for the Nittany Lions, serving home an Eva Alonso free kick in the ninth minute and heading in a Riley Gleason corner kick a minute into the second half. Olivia Borgen had the third, arcing in a shot from a top corner of the 18 with six-plus minutes to go.
Princeton outshot Penn State 11-9 overall and 6-5 in shots on goal.
The loss is Princeton's first of the season as the Tigers will take a 3-1-1 record into Sunday's 2 p.m. game at Lafayette.Â
