Angela McAuslan-Kelly Named Scottish U20 Athlete of the Year

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton's Angela McAuslan-Kelly was named the Scottish U20 Athlete of the Year, Scottish Athletics announced Saturday.
The award was presented at the 2024 4J Annual Awards Dinner in Glasgow. McAuslan-Kelly was selected out of a pool that included thrower Scott Hopper and distance runner Natasha Phillips.
"We are incredibly proud of Angela and all she accomplished in her first year at Princeton," said Head Coach Michelle Eisenreich, "From earning 2nd team all Ivy Honors, to making the First Round of the NCAA Championships, and to earning a National U20 championship and representing team Great Britain at the World U20 Championship, Angela proved she is a rare competitor with a great future ahead of her!"
Sophomore McAuslan-Kelly holds the no. 2 record in Princeton history in the indoor weight throw (64-3.75/19.60) as of 2024. She also holds the no. 3 record in the indoor hammer throw (200-1/60.99).
A USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree, McAuslan-Kelly placed second at 2024 Ivy Indoor Heps in the weight throw (19.17m), earning her Second Team All-Ivy honors. She also placed third at Ivy Outdoor Heps in the hammer throw (59.56m), qualifying her for the NCAA East Regionals.
This summer, McAuslan-Kelly represented Great Britain at the U20 World Athletic Championships in Lima.
Just in her second year at Princeton, McAuslan-Kelly has already become a talented and reliable thrower for the Tigers, and her achievements have earned her prestige on the international stage.
