November 15, 2024 | Men's Swimming and Diving
NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Tigers picked up two dominant wins on opening weekend and earned the No. 25 spot in the CSCAA's November poll. Princeton looked to push that momentum into today's meet and did just that. Five pool records fell and will be replaced with names from the Princeton roster.
The 200 medley relay started the day off strong for the Tigers as the A team of Yanning Zhang, Patrick Dinu, Logan Noguchi and Brett Feyerick broke pool record number one with a time of 1:29.94.
Zhang followed that up in an individual pool record in the 100 yard backstroke coming in to touch the wall at 47.13.
Mitch Schott jumped into the pool for his first event of the day, the 200 yard butterfly. Schott turned on the jets and came in at 1:42.22. The time broke the pool record by 5.5 seconds and stands as the second-fastest time in program history.
Time for number four from none other than Patrick Dinu. The freshman from Romania has been making his name known in the Ivy League after breaking a freshman and program record in his collegiate debut. Dinu added a pool record to his resume in the 100 freestyle with a time of 42.91.
Princeton wrapped up the day with a pool record for each finger by winning the 400 freestyle relay with Schott, Zhang, Noguchi and Dinu teaming up to record a 2:54.26 final time.
The Tigers continued their dominance on the boards with Aidan Wang claiming first in the 1-meter and 3-meter. Luca Fassi and George Callanan earned second and third place respectively in 1-meter. Callanan grabbed the number two spot in the 3-meter.
