Chea and Tall Helps Women's Basketball Over Rutgers, 66-49

Piscataway – Fadima Tall and Ashley Chea had career days as the Princeton Women's Basketball Team defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 66-49, at the Jersey Mike's Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Tall registered her first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while Chea snagged a career-best 20 points and nine boards. Olivia Hutcherson dropped in eight points and nine caroms along with three assists. Skye Belker contributed 13 points and four dimes in the win.
Princeton outrebounded Rutgers, 46-33, with five players recording at least four rebounds. All five Tigers starters were at least +11 with Tall and Parker Hill pacing the group with a +20.
In front, 6-5, the Tigers used an 11-2 sprint to go in front, 17-7, with 3:29 left in the first quarter. Rutgers quickly countered with six straight, but five consecutive points by Belker kept the home squad at bay. Princeton led 23-15 after 10 minutes. Head coach Carla Berube's unit kept its distance in the second stanza and held a 33-25 advantage at halftime.
Rutgers got within six twice in the third frame, but big three-pointers by Tall and Chea thwarted the rallies. Princeton led by 10, 49-39, with 10 minutes to go.
The Tigers put the contest away with six straight to begin the fourth quarter. Rutgers never got within 14 the rest of the way.
Rutgers' Destiny Adams came into the game averaging 25.2 points, which ranked third in the country, but Princeton held her to four points on 2-of-5 shooting, tied for her second lowest total during her time with the Scarlet Knights.
Princeton is now 4-2 overall and will head to Temple on Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
