Heavyweight Rowing Sets 8+ Course Record At Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. – Highlighted by a new course record in the 8+, the Princeton University heavyweight rowing team concluded fall competition Sunday at the Princeton Chase at Lake Carnegie.
"Today's results were the product of a full team effort and I'm very proud of the way that every member of our team stepped up to do their part and support our program's success at every level," said Head Coach Greg Hughes. "It is still early days in our season and there is much work yet to be done, but I am excited about the foundation we are beginning to build. I'm looking forward to watching this group as they step into the hard work that comes with winter training."
Princeton's A boat finished first in the 8+ with a course record time of 12:10.95, topping the previous record set by the Tigers in 2012 by 15 seconds. Princeton's B boat took fourth in 12:31.697, C boat seventh in 12:43.725 and D boat 11th in 12:54.062.
Princeton also finished first in the 2-, clocking in at 15:10.142.
In the 4-, Princeton finish in 14:08.404 to take second while the Tigers took first (13:52.148), second (14:00.785), seventh (14:19.518) and 11th (14:40.269) in the 4+. Princeton also came in second in the 1x with a time of 16:23.234.

Princeton also finished first in the 2-, clocking in at 15:10.142.
In the 4-, Princeton finish in 14:08.404 to take second while the Tigers took first (13:52.148), second (14:00.785), seventh (14:19.518) and 11th (14:40.269) in the 4+. Princeton also came in second in the 1x with a time of 16:23.234.
