PRINCETON – The Princeton women's rowing team has announced the hiring of Astrid Wettstein '13 and Richmond Coney, head coach Lori Dauphiny has announced.
"Being a student-athlete at Princeton played a pivotal role in my development as both an athlete and person, said Wettstein. "It's an immense privilege to come back to contribute to the same university and program that has shaped my life since the moment I stepped onto campus as a freshman."
"Joining the coaching staff at a perennial top five team is both a tremendous opportunity and challenge that I'm blessed to encounter," said Coney. "As I enter the 10th year of my rowing career, I find myself entering a new role, and a unique position to help elevate Princeton's rowing program even higher on the national stage. "
"We are thrilled to welcome Astrid Wettstein '13 back to the team and the No. 1 boathouse in the country, said Princeton head coach Lori Dauphiny. "Having worked together previously, I am confident that Astrid's deep understanding of the Princeton experience, both as a student and an athlete, will be a tremendous asset to our program. Her expertise and firsthand knowledge of what it takes to balance academics with the commitment to rowing at the highest level bring invaluable insight to our team. We look forward to the contributions she will make!"
"We are excited for Richmond to join our team," said Dauphiny. "Richmond is a proven leader, having served as a multi-year team captain, and he brings a wealth of experience and expertise developed over the past nine years as a rower, leader, and intern with the Olympic Development Program. His dedication to the sport and his commitment to fostering excellence make him a tremendous asset to our program. We are eager to see the impact Richmond will have as we move forward together.

With Austin, Wettstein helped the program to a U17 silver medal at the 2022 Head of the Charles and to qualify for the Youth Nationals for the first time.
