No. 24/25 Women's Basketball Drops Penn, 67-54

PHILADELPHIA – Kaitlyn Chen had a game-high 20 points as the No. 24/25 Princeton Women's Basketball Team defeated the Penn Quakers, 67-54, at the Palestra.

The Tigers used a 19-6 run in the first quarter to take a 12-point lead before settling with a 23-15 advantage after 10 minutes of action. During that stretch, Princeton scored 13 points off nine Penn turnovers.

Head coach Carla Berube's team used an 8-0 run in the second quarter to stretch its lead to 14 and eventually took a 37-26 lead into halftime.

Consecutive three pointers from Ese Ogbevire got the Quakers within six, 42-36. The home team outscored Princeton, 18-11, in the third frame and cut its deficit to four, 48-44.

After Ogbevire registered the first basket of the fourth stanza, Princeton ripped of 12 of the next 14 points, five coming from Chen.

Chen's game-high 20 points came on 8-of-14 shooting. Nweke had her third straight double-digit point performance with 17 points on 6-of-8 from the floor. Penn finished with 27 turnovers, the second most of its season.

Princeton is now 18-3 overall and 8-0 in the Ivy League. The Tigers have won 13 straight games and will head to Brown and Yale next weekend
