Carabin Scores Twice; Tigers Take Shootout Over Union

Senior Nick Carabin scored twice in the third period to erase a two-goal deficit and propel Princeton to a crucial two points via a win in the shootout over Union at Hobey Baker Rink.

In the second, the Garnet Chargers scored a pair of power-play goals to build a 2-0 lead.

The first was during a 4-on-3 situation when John Prokop slipped a feed through the crease to an open Liam Robertson for a tap in goal 11:08 into the middle period.

The Garnet Chargers tacked on a second strike with 1:06 left in the second when Colby MacArthur one-time a power play goal from the left circle.

Princeton got back in the game with a 4-on-4 goal from Nick Carabin goal 2:06 into the third period. The Tigers had three chances from in close, with shots from Tyler Rubin and Nick Seitz denied from in tight before Carabin stuffed home a third chance.

It took the remainder of the period for Princeton to net the game-tying goal, but it came off the stick of Carabin via a slapshot with 0:41 remaining in regulation.

The Tigers head to New England for a pair of Ivy League and ECAC games against Yale (February 23) and Brown (February 24).

Adam Robbins, who had an assist on the equalizer, scored the only goal of the shootout as Princeton improved to 5-0-3 in games to reach overtime.The Door Slammer!
