Sekulic and Johnson '17 Help U.S. To Gold at 2024 World Aquatics World Championships.

PRINCETON – Jovana Sekulic and Ashleigh Johnson '17 helped the United States Women's Team to the gold medal at the 2024 World Aquatics World Championships.
The United States took down Hungary in the Gold Medal match, 8-7. Johnson posted 12 saves to help the U.S. to gold and was named top goalkeeper of the tournament.
Sekulic scored four times in the tournament with a hat trick vs. Brazil in group play and a tally vs. Australia in the quarterfinals. The United States never lost in the tournament with victories over the Netherlands, Brazil and Kazakhstan in group play. The U.S. also defeated Australia in the quarterfinals and Spain in the semifinals.
The victory marks the eighth world championship title in program history, by far the most of any program in the world in men's or women's water polo. It joins Team USA titles in 2003, 2007, 2009, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022.
