
Men's Tennis Dispatches Liberty & Drexel

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team earned a pair of dual match victories Sunday inside Jadwin Gymnasium, first taking down Liberty, 6-1, before dispatching Drexel, 7-0.
"It was a productive day for us with two good wins. It was important for us to continue working on the areas where we are seeking improvement each time out," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "We had some good challenges today in a variety of spots and our guys handled that well. We have a challenging but exciting set of road matches coming up and we'll need to be at our best."
Princeton vs Liberty
Princeton got off to a strong start and won the doubles point. At No. 1, the team of Paul Inchauspe and Landon Ardila took down Romeo Hadzimehmedovic and Deji Thomas-Smith, 6-3, then Sebastian Sec and Ellis Short earned a 6-3 victory at No. 2 over Thando Smit-Longwe and Rafael Marques Da Silva.
In singles, Inchauspe defeated Marques Da Silva at No. 1, 6-3, 6-3, then Sec triumphed over Thomas-Smith, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 3. At No. 5, Ardila dispatched Matija Samardzic, 7-6, 6-4, before No. 87 Short upended Longwe-Smit at No. 4, 6-2, 7-6. At the No. 6 position Alan Kam prevailed over Chase Robinson, 6-7, 6-0, 1-0.
Princeton vs. Drexel
A sweep was earned in doubles for Princeton, with Inchauspe and Ardila winning their second match of the day at No. 1, a 6-3 victory over Alex De Soussa and Alan Jesudason. Kam and Aidan Mahoney then took down William Burridge and Josue Guzman at No. 3, 6-1, before Evan Wen and Aleksandar Mitric knocked off Pierre Humayou and Hussein El Tawil at No. 2, 6-3.
Singles saw Mitric sweep Humayou at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0, then Wen earn a 6-1, 6-2, win at No. 5 over Guzman. Inchauspe added a second singles victory at No. 1, beating Jesudason 6-4, 6-3, before Fnu Nidunjianzan topped El Tawil at No. 2, 6-3, 6-4. Sec defeated De Soussa, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 3 and the day ended with No. 87 Short dispatching Burridge, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (7).
