Tigers Win Third Straight, Defeat California Baptist, 3-1

In the Princeton softball team's penultimate game of the 2024 spring trip to Southern California, the Tigers got past California Baptist 3-1 on Tuesday night in Riverside, Calif.
Meghan Harrington and Brielle Wright combined to allow just the one run on eight hits and three walks, striking out five. Harrington got the win, going 4 1/3 with the run on five hits and three walks allowed, striking out three, while Wright allowed just three hits in her 2 2/3 innings without a walk, fanning two.
Princeton never trailed, opening the scoring with a second inning run after Allison Ha had a one-out single and moved around the bases one at a time, coming home on a hot shot off Sophia Marsalo's bat two batters later.
CBU got the run back in the third, using a leadoff single, a wild pitch and a two-out single to tie it.
Princeton took the lead again with a run in the fourth, getting a leadoff walk to Ha before Marsalo picked up Ha with a double. Ha came through again in the fifth, picking up a leadoff walk to Sonia Zhang with a two-out base hit to put Princeton ahead 3-1.
The Tigers will conclude the spring trip with a visit to UC San Diego for a 4 p.m. ET game on Wednesday. The game can be streamed on ESPN+ with an audio broadcast here and live scoring available here.
