Yelensky Named To Cutino Award Watch List

PRINCETON – Kayla Yelensky has been named to the Peter J. Cutino Award Watch List, USA Water Polo and the Olympic Club announced today.
Yelensky leads the team with 41 goals, 26 steals and 26 drawn ejections this season along with adding 13 assists for the 14-4 Princeton Tigers. She has scored a goal in all but three games and has recorded eight hat tricks in 2024. She has 155 career tallies for head coach Derek Ellingson's squad which is 13th all-time.
The Peter J. Cutino Award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach, recognizes the best player in men's and women's college water polo. This watch list was created in 2022 in an effort to help promote the college game, awareness of the honor, and the excellent play of athletes around the country. The top 22 athletes, as submitted by varsity college coaches around the country, are recognized for their outstanding play.
The full list can be found below. While it's possible the 2024 Cutino Award winner will come from the list of athletes below, this list of honorees is completely independent from the nomination and voting process of the Cutino Award as that honor will acknowledge the full impact of the 2024 season.
