Toledo, Cal State Fullerton Defeat Softball in Tigers' First Day in California

Toledo was a 12-2, six-inning winner over the Princeton softball team in the Tigers' first game on Friday in Fullerton, Calif., and host Cal State Fullerton was a 5-0 winner in the Tigers' nightcap.
Princeton will take on Grand Canyon at 1 p.m. ET, followed by host Long Beach State at 3:30 p.m. ET in Long Beach, Calif., on Saturday. Live stats for both games will be available here.
In the Toledo game, the Rockets jumped ahead with a five-run third inning before Princeton pulled within 5-2 with RBI doubles from Lauren Sablone and Karis Ford. Toledo added three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth. Cassidy Shaw, with 4 1/3 innings, and Molly Chambers, with 1 2/3, split the time in the circle.
Cal State Fullerton opened with a four-run first inning and added its final run in the third. Princeton got hits from Sonia Zhang in the second inning and Caitlin Bish in the fifth. Meghan Harrington, with four innings, and Brielle Wright, with two, split the time in the circle.
