Evan Harmeling '12 Makes Cut At PGA Tour's Puerto Rico Open
March 09, 2024 | Men's Golf
Evan Harmeling had already made history when he stepped to the tee on his opening hole on Thursday at the Puerto Rico Open by becoming the first Princeton golfer to compete in a PGA TOUR event.
For good measure, he has added a little more history by making the cut in his first start with rounds of 70-69 to enter the weekend with a score of 139 (-5).
Harmeling had to wait a little longer than expected to make the cut after Round Two was suspended due ot darkness before he teed off on No. 17 on Friday. Nonetheless, he returned on Saturday and took care of business by parring the final two holes to finish two shots clear of the cut line.
Rounds 3 and 4 will be broadcast on the Golf Channel Saturday and Sunday starting at 2:30 p.m.
