No. 11 Women's Water Polo Wraps Up 10-0 CWPA Regular Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The No. 12 Princeton Women's Water Polo team defeated the No. 21 Harvard Crimson and No. 25 Brown Bears, finishing the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) action.
No. 12 Princeton 10, No. 21 Harvard 6
A tight battle in the opening stanza, Shanna Davidson put the Tigers up 3-2 over the Crimson after eight minutes of play. Tallies from Olivia Krotts and Kaila Carroll gave head coach Derek Ellingson's squad a 5-2 lead at the half.
After Harvard opened the scoring in the second half, the Tigers answered back with goals from Davidson and Ava Houlahan to open a four-goal lead. Kayla Yelensky scored twice in the final frame to give herself a hat trick.

A back-and-forth affair in the first eight minutes, Kaila Carroll scored twice to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead over the Bears after one stanza of action. Carroll notched her third goal of the game to start the second quarter and Princeton added four more tallies to take a 9-5 halftime lead.
Each team scored a goal in the third frame and Brown managed to close the gap to 11-8 in the last stanza, but a Meera Burghardt goal put the game out of reach.

The Tigers have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the CWPA Tournament (Apr. 26-28). They will face the winner of the No. 4 and No. 5 seed on Apr. 27 at 12 p.m.
