Full Schedule
PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton University women's volleyball team Head Coach Sabrina King announced the Tigers' 2024 schedule Wednesday morning.
"The 2024 fall schedule will be an incredible test for our team," said King. "We look forward to seeing how they can perform in the pre-season against some of the top teams in the nation, including Penn State, Duke, and High Point. We have built a lot of momentum this spring with numerous returners, so we are eager to see how the work we have put in this spring translates to the pre-season. The Ivy League slate will be challenging as always, and we added a mid-season match against perennial top 25 team Marquette. Our goal is always to win league and represent the Ivy League in the NCAA tournament, so these teams will prepare us for the post season."
Along with three tournaments (Villanova, Penn State, UMBC), the Tigers will host eight matches inside Dillon Gymnasium, including one against BIG EAST opponent Marquette, a team that that advanced to the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament and ended the season just outside of the national top-25, receiving 38 votes in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll.
The 2024 season will officially open on the road at the Villanova Tournament from Sept. 6-7. The Villanova Tournament will see Princeton face Old Dominion, Loyola (Maryland) and the host Wildcats.
Following that, Princeton will make the trip to State College, Pennsylvania, for the Penn State Tournament from Sept. 13-14. The Tigers will take on Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponent Duke, the host Nittany Lions, a team that ended the 2023 season ranked No. 12 in the nation and advanced to the Regional Semifinal at the NCAA Tournament, along with St. John's at times to be announced.
Princeton's final tournament runs from Sept. 20-21 and will be hosted by UMBC and Howard. The Tigers will take on both host schools along with High Point.
Ivy League play along with Princeton's home opener takes place on Sept. 27 against the University of Pennsylvania. The Tigers then head to the Palestra the following night on Sept. 28 for another match against the Quakers. A four-match home stand follows as Princeton hosts Brown (Oct. 4), Yale (Oct. 5), Harvard (Oct. 11) and Dartmouth (Oct. 12.) The first round of Ivy matches concludes road matches against Columbia on Oct. 18 and Cornell on Oct. 19.
The Tigers' final non-conference match of the season takes place against Marquette inside Dillon Gymnasium on Oct. 26 before conference play resumes at Yale on Nov. 1 and at Brown on Nov. 2. Princeton returns home for senior weekend on Nov. 8-9 against Cornell and Columbia before regular season play wraps up on the road against Dartmouth on Nov. 15 and Harvard on Nov. 16.
Postseason play begins with the Ivy League Tournament, hosted by the No. 1 seed, from Nov. 22-24. The NCAA Tournament begins with the first and second round from Nov. 30 until Dec. 2 followed by Regionals from Dec. 7-9 then the National Championship from Dec. 14-17.
